The Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB) is to undergo a major online revamp. The new website will expand upon the LARB’s current offerings and is expected to see a switch to more of a magazine format than before. A $25,000 grant from Amazon is also helping the website position itself for the future.
The LARB website currently offers a book review each day, but the much-needed facelift will allow it to dramatically expand its reviewing capabilities as well as making the website a little more modern. The new version of the site will include multimedia content, video interviews with authors and new types of content alongside the reviews, which will remain the backbone of the LARB experience.
Book reviews have traditionally been offered by newspapers and magazines, but the LARB looks set to offer a significant home for online reviews. The new version of the site is expected to launch on April 18th this year.
