The Kindle Fire is expected to get a full UK launch in time for Christmas, according to numerous sources. Retailer Dixons has predicted that the device will be one of its biggest sellers towards the end of the year, although the company backtracked a little on Thursday and said this was based on expectations within the industry and not a confirmed launch date.
Given recent suggestions that Amazon’s timescale for new Kindle devices might have been set back for the rest of 2012, it’s far from safe to assume that the UK launch will definitely happen. But it does look like the gears are turning, and the UK market is arguably the most conspicuous omission from the Kindle Fire’s market coverage so far.
There’s no news on the price at which the device is expected to be sold in the UK. Some sources say that the device will be released around October, while others say it could be even later. Generally, there’s a consensus of opinion that it will be ready for Christmas and could be a huge seller.
