US science-fiction author Suzanne Allés Blom, best known for her alternate history novel Inca: The Scarlet Fringe (2000), has died at the age of 64.
The story of Atahualpa, the son of a powerful Incan ruler, Inca: The Scarlet Fringe examined the possible outcome of a different version of the Inca story. There were rumours of possible sequels, none of which ever appeared.
She was also known for the short story In Memory of Prince Edward, which was first published in 1993. She worked on the Verdant Lore Tarot project, and was an active member of science-fiction fan communities.
