Obituary: Chase the Wind author E.V. Thompson (1931-2012)

E.V. Thompson, the author best known for a series of historical novels set in Cornwall, has died at the age of 81. He passed away at his home in Launceston.

Chase the Wind (1977) was his breakthrough success, and the Retallick Saga (of which Chase the Wind was a part) became increasingly popular. Thompson often spoke about the meticulous research that went into his books.

Thompson’s final book, The Bonds of Earth, is due to be published later this year by his publisher, Robert Hale.
