GalleyCat has launched an interesting initiative that aims to make authors’ work available via the site’s podcast. First Graf Friday invites writers to submit the first paragraph of their work, with GalleyCat staff planning to edit together their favourites to broadcast via their show.
Authors have to phone a hotline and record themselves reading their first paragraph. Details of the work should also be provided, and will be included in the podcast for each successful entry. They don’t say how many paragraphs will be selected, or whether this will be a regular spot, but it seems like a good opportunity for authors to get their work heard by a large audience.

Thanks for the tip!
