Esther Tusquets, the Spanish author best known for her debut novel El mismo mar de todos los veranos(The Same Sea as Every Summer) has died at the age of 75.
The Same Sea as Every Summer was first published in 1978, and formed a trilogy along with El amor es un juego solitario (Love is a Solitary Game) and Varada tras el ultimo naufragio (Stranded), which were published over the next couple of years.
As well as being a successful novelist, Esther Tusquets also taught literature and history at the Carillo Academy, and served as director of Barcelona’s Lumen publishing house.
