Writing can be a pretty sedentary lifestyle and if you’re lucky enough to be able to write a lot, you could actually face some pretty serious health issues in the long-term. A new Facebook group, Writers on the Move, aims to offer some health tips that might just help to keep writers looking and feeling a little better.
The Writers on the Move group doesn’t involve much talk about writing. Instead, they say they’re a low pressure group that aims to encourage writers to talk about health issues and to discuss the ways they try to keep fit and well. It seems to be part support group and part discussion group.
It’s no secret that sitting for long periods of time can do damage to the body, not only in terms of structure but also in terms of blood-flow and even the way that the stomach digests food. A recent study found that people who spend most of their time in a sitting position are risking serious problems later in life, and some people even recommend switching to a standing desk.
