With Christmas on the horizon, legal office runner Kathleen Turner starts to discover that her boyfriend (and boss) Blane Kirk has some dark secrets. But when those secrets spill over and leave Kathleen fighting for her life, it becomes apparent that dark forces are determined to kill everyone connected to a controversial case.
In some ways, Turn To Me is a fairly conventional thriller. What sets it apart from many others in the genre is the central character of Kathleen Turner, who offers a genuinely new perspective. She provides the reader with a strong viewpoint, alternatively horrified and galvanised by the events unfolding around her. By the end of the novel, she’s undergone some real character progression and development, and that’s not always the case with thrillers.
The novel works, ultimately, because it takes an interesting set of characters and puts them through a series of well-paced plot developments. That’s what readers want from thrillers, and Tiffany Snow delivers. Kathleen Turner clearly has potential to be a franchise star, though, and this is a character that shows clear potential to have a long run.
