Goodreads reaches 10 million members milestone

Goodreads has reached the 10 million members milestone. In a blog post, the site also noted that its members have shelved more than 360 million books, with tens of millions being catalogued on the site each month, and more than 20,000 Goodreads groups are operating.

Goodreads was launched in January 2007 and hit the 5 million member mark in the middle of 2010. They’ve doubled that number in less than two years, showing that the site is enjoying substantial growth. As the ebook market continues to expand, Goodreads continues to cement its place as one of the key marketing points for self-published authors.

Having recently moved into new offices in San Francisco, Goodreads currently has around 30 members and recently launched a Recommendations Engine to help readers find new authors. Click here to read our recent interview with Goodreads’ Patrick Brown.
