Good e-Reader has launched a new low-cost book trailer service that aims to provide a professional-looking trailer for as little as $99.99. The one-minute video will be fully-animated, with “atmospheric music” and embeddable links and help for those who aren’t sure how to put the video on their websites.
Here’s a sample video which shows the kind of thing they’re offering. Considering that some sites will charge four or five hundred dollars for a video, the $99.99 price tag seems pretty reasonable. Authors seem to be able to be involved in the process of creating the trailer. There’s no word as to how long it takes.
Book trailers have become huge over the past six months, not only with traditionally-published authors but also with indie authors who want to make a splash. It’s hard to quantify the success of these trailers, and obviously their impact might diminish as more and more people use them, but it’s not hard to see how a good trailer could improve sales.
