Google Play gift cards are now available at RadioShack, GameStop and Target stores across the US. Coming in $10, $25 and $50 denominations, the cards can be redeemed here up to a $2,000 account balance, and they can be used for all purchases except hardware, accessories or subscriptions.
Google is still pushing Google Play as a one-stop source for a variety of entertainment products, including ebooks. Getting Google Play gift cards into stores is a logical move, especially since iTunes cards are so common. One of the big advantages of the cards is that they can be used by people who don’t have a credit card to hand.
As you’d expect, Google Play cards are already popping up on sites such as eBay. Over time, physical retailers are expected to offer price reductions for the cards, in the same way that they sometimes cut the prices of iTunes cards.
