Amazon is launching something on Thursday September 6th, and most people are assuming that there’ll be some new Kindle devices to show off. There’s also speculation that Amazon could add something else into the mix, most likely the new Kindle FireDock, which is expected to be a kind of audio and video entertainment hub.
It’s also potentially significant that quite a few Android-focused bloggers have been invited to the event, which has led some to suggest that an Android-based phone might also be launched. Amazon has been rumoured to be working on such a device for a while, but the Kindle Fire also uses Android and the company will probably focus on the core Kindle devices this time around.
Rumours also suggest that the Kindle Fire will be able to project holograms, will be controllable via a brainwave-reading headset, and will be able to hover. Approximately 25bn units have already been manufactured, and Amazon will be paying consumers $100 to take each one. As ever, treat rumours with caution.
