Earlier this year, F+W Media picked up more than 250 out-of-print novels and re-released them digitally under its Prologue Books imprint. The company has now announced the acquisition of a further 400+ titles, most of which will be pulp-style titles from the 50s and 60s.
Peter Rabe, Fletcher Flora and William Campbell Gault were just some of the authors whose titles were included in the original batch. After working with fans of various pulp-style genres in order to curate a new list of titles, Prologue Books is set to bring back to the market a huge range of titles that would otherwise be almost impossible to track down.
Whether it’s because they want to explore the roots of their favourite genres, or because they want to wallow in nostalgia, many readers seem to be seeking out these types of quick read. Typically selling for less than the big-name releases by household names, these books definitely have a strong market, and digital publishing reduces many of the risks inherent in resurrecting out-of-print novels.
