Twitter is seeking authors to take part in an innovative fiction festival that’s set to run during late November. The Twitter Fiction Festival will use the #twitterfiction hashtag and is designed to showcase “creative experiments in storytelling”, according to the company’s blog post announcing the project.
Authors are invited to submit their ideas here, explaining how they want to explore the interaction between Twitter and fiction-writing. Not all applications will be accepted; it seems that Twitter wants to curate a selection of writers who will explore and challenge the conventions of Twitter fiction, and there are no rewards other than increased exposure.
Authors have a few weeks to get their submissions in before the final selection is made. An anouncement will follow on November 19th regarding the authors who have been selected, and the festival itself will start on November 28th and run for five days.
